Community Practice: The Arc of Embodiment
Community Calls • 1h 30m
You may have a basic understanding of masculine/feminine energetics, but perhaps you don’t feel confident enough to fully embody or transmit them. You want a process for taking this understanding into practice.
In this video, from the July 27th Community Practice Call, John describes the arc of embodiment: recognition, amplification, embodiment, integration, and transmission.
If you want to learn how to move from understanding to embodying and transmitting your masculine & feminine, this 90-minute video will give you a step-by-step guide.
You'll learn:
- You begin the Arc of Embodiment with recognition - recognizing the part of yourself that is innately masculine (the infinite, unchanging part of you), and the part of yourself that is innately feminine (the part that is vibrant and ever-changing)
- Once you recognize a part of yourself, you can amplify it, so it becomes more alive in your cells and body
- Once you amplify, you can spread that energy, so that it fills your body - that's the process of embodiment
- The next step is to integrate your innate feminine and innate masculine; the part of you that is all feeling and the part of you that is all awareness
- These are meditative practices that can be amplified and carried into everything - sensations, emotions, turn on
- Adi Da described the perfect meditation as a combination of awareness and feeling - that is the true unification of our masculine and feminine
- Once you've artfully and consciously chose this integration in your body, you can transmit it
- When you transmit, you're connected to a pure source within you and you're amplifying that source and pressing it out into the world, like beautiful sacred dance
- Great art is a beautiful union of our masculine and our feminine; and when we use the body to transmit that art, we're in embodiment practice
- You'll feel more alive if you bring this practice as you move through your day
- Practice entering a relationship from the place of generating love rather than seeking to get love
- Your "occurring world" is the lens by which you see the world—for most of us, this is unconscious
- Once you identify your occurring world, you get to choose and embody a new occurring world
- Every innate feminine thinks there is not enough 'love' the same way every innate masculine thinks there is not enough 'freedom'. This is never going to change. By owning this, it can become a gift.
- Your relationship to your own feminine will translate to your relationship to the women in your life
- A masculine or feminine cleanse is about getting to know who you really are outside of the posturing that we do to get love
- Without awareness, your expression may be too much for the moment, so it is important to bring awareness and ask, "What does the moment need?"
- Reveal your feelings out, rather than project them forward; that way, you become an invitation for your partner to enter into
- In a moment of mental momentum, you need to bring energy through your body to override the habitual thought-forms - John guides a shaking practice you can do for this
- A practice to spread a feeling or trait that you want to embody, to make your whole body a transmission of this feeling or trait, and to feel yourself pressing the feeling or trait out to the world.
