You like red movies, your partner likes blue movies and yet you continually end up watching purple movies. Often in partnership, we are unable to fully express and ask for what we truly desire, so we end up settling on something that is just ok for both of us. Are you craving a blue movie, but are uncertain how to ask? Does your partner deeply desire a red movie, but you can’t quite figure out how to give that to them?
In this 38 minute partner practice, from The Art of Sacred Intimacy, Austin 2024, led by Kendra Cunov, you are invited to explore, through touch, The Art of Giving; how to ask for what you desire and how to give what your partner needs.
This practice, originally developed by Betty Martin, is a simple, beautiful way to find ways to move away from purple movies in partnership in order to give each other what you truly desire, with an open and willing heart. You may even find that by giving, you also receive.
