The Art of Sacred Command in Service of Opening
31m
Learning to become attuned to our partner's nervous system and emotional state involves love and devotion. The capacity to lovingly evoke openness in them, as you notice closures, requires the skill of feeling into the moment. What makes them smile? What brings out a primal roar to clear their energy? Maybe it’s a yawn or a shake? What kind of touch? This is about what your partner needs, and your practice of being able to feel them through the depth of your heart.
In this 31-minute practice, from The Art of Sacred Intimacy, July 2023, in London, John uses the Art of Sacred Command to provide a pathway and a tool to open your partner into ecstatic aliveness.
Through this practice, you will begin to trust each other to feel into the spaces that are closed or reactive. Then, from the space of devotional love, subtly command your partner into more and more openness based on what you attune they need in the moment. Watch how they shift, open, and relax right in front of you.
The breath used in this practice is a gentle pelvic floor breath. Breath in through your nose and imagine your pelvis filling up like a balloon, as your belly fills, expanding in all directions. Exhale through your nose and empty out all of the air in your belly.
If you have a question about this practice or any of the content in The Embodied Relationship Experience, we highly encourage you to bring it to John during one of our monthly Office Hours calls that are included with your membership. You can find the dates and times of the upcoming calls here:
