This is for You, My Love
22m
Life inherently has challenges. Within these challenges you have choice on how you meet them. Do you clench and fight, or do you relax and soften? In these moments, do you notice how your response affects Her? Not only the She that is in front of you, but the Great She that is all around you. Can you meet life's challenges with a soft heart for Her? Surrendering to what is and embodying true devotion through the storm?
In this 23 minute practice from The 1000 Hour Teacher Training 2023 in Sedona, AZ, John will lead you through a rigorous practice that will bring you to your edge, and then demand more. In this space, where can you soften into life's challenges and be a stand for Her.
Let this practice be a moment to stand true. “This is for you, my love” will invite you into a space of love amidst chaos, allowing you to sharpen and surrender simultaneously. Bring your warrior heart and feel how She responds to you.
This practice begins with a “Shaking out” process to clear space and find openness in the body for both practitioners.
This is a partner practice, but the focus is on the masculine practitioner to “Hold the Pose” throughout the practice.
The feminine practitioner will be asked to help refine his pose, bear witness to him and respond through her body.
The three part breath is used in this practice. The three part breath breathe by inhaling in and out through your nose and filling up the belly, solar plexus and chest one after the other like a wave. On the exhale, continue the wave by first releasing the air from your chest, then solar plexus and finally your belly.
The stance for the masculine is wide rooted legs with a slight bend in the knees. Arms are outstretched in front of you like you're hugging a tree. During the practice you will be cued to shift your arms and will raise them above your head and gently touch your fingers together.
