Teaching - The Art of The Sacred Dom
13m
In a world saturated with steamy romantasy novels and 50 Shades of Grey, you may have discovered a desire to explore Dominance and submission but feel uncertain where to begin, or what this actually looks and feels like beyond fantasized scenes on a page.
Through the lens of embodied Sacred Intimacy, Dominance becomes a devotional art form, far deeper than setting up a scene or performing a role. Sacred Dominance is when one partner agrees to feel the other person so deeply that they can sense what is needed to open and liberate their body. The role of the Dom becomes devotion itself: devotion to opening their partner.
Sacred submission then becomes one partner agreeing to allow themselves to be seen and felt so deeply that they are surrendering to the other's feeling body. The practice for the submissive partner is responsiveness: meeting the devotional offering with trust and openness.
In this 15-minute teaching from The 1000-Hour Teacher Training (Mt. Shasta, 2025), John discusses the Sacred Intimacy view of Dominance and submission: where art and love meet and thrive. This is a way to nourish and open your partner. To be held and witnessed. To explore the full spectrum of eros, not through power, but through presence.
