Intuitive Movement: Open as the Expanding Universe
13m
In this 13 minute practice from the 2023 Teacher Training program, John leads masculine and feminine practitioners through a gentle movement and breath practice that will melt tension in your body, move stuck emotions, open your heart, and allow you to ultimately dissolve into the moment and the expansiveness of the universe.
Other benefits of this practice include:
Slowing down
Deep physical relaxation
Inviting more lifeforce into the body
Opening your heart
Moving grief, sadness, or emotional tension you might be holding
Increase your capacity for flow and surrender
Greater sensitivity to what parts of your body are asking for breath and attention
Opening the center column of your body
Connecting with the cosmos that is living and experiencing itself through you
Who this practice is for:
This is a great practice for anyone, regardless of gender, to help you relax into your body, connect with your intuition, and open as the expanding universe.
Practice setup:
You’ll begin this practice on all fours. To maximize your comfort, consider using a yoga mat or sheepskin.
The breath technique in this practice is called the "Biological Breath" created by Emily Conrad and Cass Phelps. It is done by opening the back of your throat. You will inhale with a wide open mouth, into the back of your throat. Then gently place your tongue on the roof of your mouth and exhale with an open mouth as if you are attempting to fog up a mirror. You can bring in sound on the exhale if that feels good. This will begin to open your central column, relax your nervous system and open your body.
Reminder:
If you have a question about this practice or any of the content in the Virtual Workshop, we highly encourage you to bring it to John during one of our monthly Office Hours calls that are included with your membership.
