Meditation with the Nourishment of No Demand
12m
When you’re feeling overcome by life’s burdens, peace often feels completely out of reach. You want to find the path to blissful peace, but you don’t know how to get beyond your neverending list of demands.
In this organic breath practice and meditation, John will guide you to allow your body to be nourished and deeply relaxed in the space of no demand. You will practice being with your body, which is the feminine, and to give it meticulous and pristine attention, while also allowing your awareness to feel the stillness and emptiness at the core of all existence.
If you want to find the pathway to blissful stillness in any moment where there is absolutely nothing needed from you, do this 12-minute practice.
Sit in stillness with your eyes closed, shoulders relaxed, and heart & spine strong. Then begin an Organic Breath Practice: Wait until your body wants an inhale and then allow your body to take a nice smooth, deep inhale; hold the breath for a moment or two, and then let your body slowly and smoothly release the breath whenever it is ready with no effort. Allow your breath to find its own natural rhythm and allow your body to be nourished by it. No forcing, thinking or strategizing. Your body decides when to inhale, how long to hold it, and when to exhale, on its own organic rhythm.
Then, keeping some of your awareness on giving your body and breath beautiful attention, take the rest of your awareness to the stillness and empty space in your body. Go deep into the empty space where there is absolutely nothing needed and there is only absolute blissful stillness. Then feel into the empty space in the environment all around you, and then all the way out to the cosmos -- to Space.
For the last three breaths, keep feeling the emptiness at the core of all existence and then keep feeling your breath. Bring your awareness to the solid structure of your body, and then rooting your sacrum into the earth, feel the empty space at the core of you. Feel the rooted nature of your body, the still emptiness at the core that holds your body together, and the breath. Acknowledge the nourishment and relaxation that is available to you at all times.
