Reclaiming Your Wild Woman
20m
In this practice from the 2022 Embodied Women’s Relationship Immersion, John invites you into an enlivening breath practice and pelvic rock to wake up the root and sacral chakras. From there you’ll be guided into a meditation to meet and embody your primal, wild woman.
When this was recorded, at the end of the practice, John invited participants to open their eyes and share their wild woman with another woman in the room. If you are practicing solo, you could simply imagine this step or move to mirror and witness and honor this aspect of yourself.
Set aside an uninterrupted period of time in which you can stay in practice. Prior to your practice, prepare a comfortable and private practice space, with a meditation cushion or bolster, that will allow you to move your body freely with your eyes closed.
Who this practice is for:
Because this focuses on connecting with a more primal energy, this practice is best suited for intermediate or advanced practitioners.
Reminder:
When John is leading these practices in-person, he is feeling into the level of practice of everyone in the room, moment to moment. So you’ll hear him give a variety of cues and suggestions, including how vigorously to breathe. The goal with any practice is to lightly lean into your edge. If any of the instructions or visualizations begin to take you past your current edge, simply slow down or pause, or replace his suggestions with words that fit where your practice, your body, and your nervous system are at in the moment.
