Your Warrior Body
11m
Many men struggle with being swayed by life’s storms. Despite your best attempts to stay clear, rooted, and heart-centered, your partner’s upset, problems at work, or the stress of life itself often throw you off your game.
This is a practice John led to activate your "Warrior Body" - deep breath, bright heart, strong root, clear mind, and enlivened body. From here, you can set powerful intentions for your day, and you can't be uprooted by life's storms.
If you want to stand firmly and calmly in the eye of the storm, no matter what life throws your way, challenge yourself to take on this 11-minute practice daily.
Sit with your legs opened enough that you have plenty of space in the center of your body and your feet pressed into the earth. Tuck your chin down to find length through the back of your neck, close your eyes, gently open your shoulders and lift your heart. Raise your hands above your shoulders with your pinky fingers turned toward your heart. Make them strong like antennas.
Breathe deeply through your nose into your side ribs and exhale powerfully through your mouth, like a "Warrior's Exhale," pressing down through your side ribs into your lower abdomen. Feel the sky and sun above you and begin to pull the energy of the sun into your heart. Make your heart big, wide, strong and receptive. With every exhale, push the energy of the sun down into your heart and your lower body.
Then tucking your navel in slightly, plunge your sacrum down into the earth like it's made of wood or a strong, thick Oak tree root. Make your core strong and enliven your body, like you are about to enter into battle with a deep, rich heart. Send the electricity of your heart all the way down into your feet and out to your fingertips.
Simultaneously ground down into the earth and lift your heart to the sky, pulling sun energy into your heart, and making it bright and powerful. Allow this bright heart energy to travel up into your mind, allowing your mind to be clear and bright.
Then press the root of your heart down into the earth and call to mind what you are here to do today and right now in your life. Wrap this energy around it. Given this energy in service to it.
Then slowly lower your hands as if you are holding a ball just below your navel, and bring your attention to your root. Make your root strong and grounded into the earth. Continue to lift your heart while plunging your root deeply into the earth, so you can't be blown over or uprooted by life's storms.
Without losing this deep root, open the crown of your head and allow starlight energy to stream down into your head, all the way down your central channel, so it's like a beam traveling down through the top of your head into your throat, your heart, your solar plexus, your genitals, and down into the earth. Allow this powerful stream of energy from the stars to awaken your body and clean out any residue stuck in the central channel of your body.
Relax this practice and while still staying fully alert, recognize your activated, Warrior Body. Then give a bow to your Warrior Body.
