Your ego is a meaning-making machine that often results in the creation of projections related to yourself, others and the world around you. Projection is a way for our minds to protect the innocent one within us. Although many projections often contain some truth, becoming aware of and learning how to speak and clear projections are one the most important relational technologies we have access to. When we fall into a projection loop, we abandon ourselves and create meaning from nothing that is ego-led.
In this 10 minute compilation from The Art of Sacred Intimacy, Cascais, Portugal, 2024, John discusses the root of projection, how it creates disharmony in relationships and how to work with the awareness of projection and use it as a tool for deeper communication and intimacy.
If you are yearning to learn more about the deeper layers of projection and how to identify moments of projection in life and relationship, this compilation will provide you with insight into how to work with projection and how to build language around its expression. What are we making up? How is this projection related to me and what is happening within me? When we are able to speak our projections from a clear and grounded heart, we give it space to clear which in turn allows it to become a reciprocal gift.
