Community Practice: A New Paradigm of Masculinity
Community Calls • 1h 35m
Many men find themselves walking on eggshells in a culture that is quick to label the “toxic masculine.” You may struggle with holding space, expressing empathy, or becoming vulnerable, not for lack of effort, but instead, for lack of practice and nervous system capacity. You want to be a pioneer in a new paradigm of masculinity and you would like more tools to support you in getting there.
In this video, from the June 8th Community Practice Call, John asserts that the New Paradigm of Masculinity is a fully integrated Masculine and Feminine. With the help of Special Guest Justin Baldoni, John offers a reframe on the term “toxic masculine” and gives pathways for both the Masculine and Feminine to safely support Masculine vulnerability and empathy.
If you want to create a new paradigm of masculinity by expanding your nervous system capacity for vulnerability, empathy, and an integrated Masculine and Feminine, you’ll learn how in this 95-minute video.
You'll also learn:
- Why the term "toxic masculine" is problematic
- How the "toxic masculine" actually reflects the "wounded masculine"
- Why women are so attuned to this conversation about a new paradigm of Masculinity
- Why men have to train their bodies to learn to have the nervous system capacity to hold space and express empathy
- How you can reach men for men's groups beyond the small circles of men who already express interest
- Why men need to find their way into their hearts with other men as much, if not more, than with women
- What a mother of sons, and women in general, can do to honor the essence of the Masculine in the men in their lives and love them in their process
- How the Feminine can give feedback to the Masculine in a way they can receive it
- How to understand the difference between rigidity and structure
- How the Masculine can hold structure for their own broken heart
- How the Feminine can reconcile with their "father wound" in their relationship to the Masculine
- Why creating space to own and face childhood wounding in relationship early on can deepen a relationship from the start
- How the Feminine can hold the vulnerable Masculine heart in a safe and supportive way
- How to discern the difference between complaint and true vulnerability, and how you can take someone deeper than complaint
- Justin Baldoni's book, referenced on the call, is titled: "Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinity"
