You may be finding that each day is a struggle. You might set out to get a lot done, but sometimes the very act of being human is hard enough, let alone accomplishing anything.
This meditation guided by Nicholette Routhier was inspired by her work with Founder of Wolf Connection, Teo Alfero, to bring you fully into the moment, so you can take on the day as the wild nature that you are.
If you want to inspire your human tasks with the wildness of your spirit, start your day with this 6-minute meditation.
Beginning with your feet on the floor, dig your claws into the earth. Feel the pads of your paws spreading to receive the earth. Receive the nourishment of the earth up through your strong wolf legs and haunches.
Let your breath naturally flow smoothly in and out through your belly.
As you continue to receive the nourishment from the earth, send it up to your heart. Feel your heart connected to your pack. Expand your heart connection out to the pack that is your family, kindred spirits, close friends, and acquaintances. Open the back of your heart and allow the full expanse of your heart to open up to your pack.
Continuing to allow the nourishment of the earth to rise up through your wolf body, send it up to your wolf throat, snout and mouth. Feel your sharp teeth that can be fierce and lethal, but also playful. Feel your mouth that gives way for a howl, and a growl, and a coo. Feel the unabashed wild expression that can come through your wolf voice.
Continue to breathe the earth's nourishment up to your wolf ears to engage and activate your awareness through your acute wolf hearing - the capacity to hear the full range of textures of truth underlying any conversation.
Activate your coat of fur that extends a few inches out from your skin - a coat of protection; an extra layer holding you. Also, a coat of sensory, warmth, and cuddliness.
Open your eyes and rest them on something beautiful in the space to activate your wolf vision. See that thing in front of you, but also open your peripheral vision. Expand your vision wide. Open your capacity to see all possibilities. Light and shadow. What is seen and unseen.
With wolf vision, wolf hearing, wolf voice, wolf teeth, wolf fur, wolf heart, wolf breath, wolf haunches, wolf paws, and wolf claws - feeling the fullness that is your wolf body - complete your practice by letting out one wolf howl to express the wolf nature that you are and call yourself fully into your space here and now.
