You have embarked on a path to expand your capacity for love and you’re ready for the deep dive. You may be aware that there is a myriad of ways to express feminine energy and you’re looking for a comprehensive practice to touch as many of them as possible.
This feminine practice, led by Erin Kinney, Ali Kegley Kole, and Nicholette Routhier for the 2020 Embodied Women's Relationship Immersion, guides you through the essential expressions of the feminine: pleasure, energy, response, surrender, and devotion. Within this practice, you will find your unique expression of pleasure, explore 8 archetypal energies of the feminine, and practice surrendering to masculine structure.
If you want to experience a cornucopia of feminine energies and expand your capacity for love, you’ll find it in this 45-minute practice.
Prior to your practice, prepare a comfortable and private practice space, such as a mat, rug or sheepskin, that will allow you to relax and move your body freely with your eyes closed. Also prior to your practice, prepare a 45-minute playlist and set aside an uninterrupted period of time in which you can stay in practice the entire time. You will be guided to begin your music at the beginning of the recording, and then you will start lying on your back on the floor.
Below are the songs used during the live practice if you would like to follow along with the playlist:
"Faith's Hymn" by Beautiful Chorus
"Latch" by Daniela Andrade
"Movement" by Hozier
"How I Like It" by Maluma
"Nobody's Fault" by Rising Appalachia, The Human Experience
"Brace" by Twin Shadow (feat. Rainsford)
"Boom" by iBenji, Talabun
"Ceremony of Passage" by Vas
"Folds" by Feverkin, Koresma
"99" by Elliot Moss
"I'm Not Going Anywhere" by David Ramirez
Once the music has begun, bring gentle awareness to your breath and your body on the floor. Allow everything to slow down, and begin to release and unravel the tension in your body. Find something in the space that you can surrender to, like the floor or the music. Then find something that feels good and amplify it with movement through your body. Try not to focus on what you think should feel good, or how you think you should move, but rather, explore what truly feels good to you in the moment. Allow pleasure to be your guiding light, radiating out through your body, and perhaps even allowing it to spill out into the room around you.
If you lose the sensation of pleasure, that's okay. Slow down and return to something that feels good in this moment. Try to explore the sensations of pleasure as fresh and new, rather than by repeating movements you have done before, as if you are the embodied expression of pleasure itself.
If it feels good, allow yourself to become flirty and seductive with pleasure, maybe flirting with the floor, walls, carpet or the texture of the air around you, as if to playfully say, "I see you." Find your unique expression of pleasure.
From here, you will pulse through eight archetypal energies of the feminine: Drunken Housewife, Wise Crone, Tinkerbelle, Bunny Rabbit, Tween, Black Widow Spider, Mama Bear, and Volcano.
If any of these energies feel difficult to embody, fake it and try it anyway. You cannot get this wrong. Let whatever you find be enough.
To close this section of the practice, you will be invited to explore another energy of your choice that you are curious or hungry to try.
For the final portion of the practice, you will make your way to a structure in your space, such as lying on the floor, leaning against a wall, or seated on a sturdy chair. Once you have made physical contact, allow yourself to relax into that structure. Let it hold you, and all the energy you generated throughout your practice. Feel the sturdiness, strength, and the constant nature of that structure holding the life within you - the blood running through your veins, your thoughts, feelings and heartbeat.
Then begin to allow your body to respond to the structure, maybe by softening into it, pushing against it, running your fingers along it, curling into it...
In every moment, allow your body to respond to the structure with breath, sound, movement, and pleasure. This structure can take all of you, so give it everything you have. Let all the parts of you come alive as you fully interact with it. This floor, this wall, this chair is the Masculine.
For the last song, bring the energies of worship and devotion. Feel your heart's gratitude to be completely held. Allow yourself to be taken by it. Surrender to everything you're feeling, with your heart fully devoted to this moment. Make a vow to show up fully to your heart and to love. Then offer a bow to seal the vow for yourself.
Technical Note: Ali Kegley Kole's sound quality dropped at times, but we believe the transmission of the practice stands well enough on its own that we decided to make it available to the members of our Virtual Workshop.

For many women, bringing their heart’s true expression in a moment of pain or heartbreak in a way that is “artful” or “in service of love” can feel out of reach.
