John began the call by discussing the importance of being able to down regulate your own nervous system. This involves being in your body and your practice. Noticing where you are tight, closed etc.
When we can down regulate our own nervous system, we can evoke more polarization - The Feminine becomes move available for and a deeper invitation of love. And the masculine becomes more grounded and still. his breath deepens.
The goal is 1% shifts. a 1% shift weekly adds up to a 52% shift over the course of a year.
John then led participants through a Vagal Nerve Reset Breath:
Inhale through your nose for a count of 3. Exhale through your mouth for a count of 6. Drop your energy down into the earth on every exhale. The intention here is to make you exhale twice as long as your inhale to facilitate your body moving into the parasympathetic nervous system (out of fight/flight)
Q1: What does Love want? This question led to a discussion around the difference in internal vs external boundaries and being emotionally sensitive to what is consented to in the moment.
Q2: How to "Hold the Pose" in a moment of high emotional energy. This question led to a discussion on repair and the balance and tension between your adaptive child and your wise adult.
Q3: Feeling depleted during/after sex. With this question, JOhn discussed how to spread energy between and through yourself and your partner, during and after sex.
Q4: How do I honor what is true in the moment and discuss it with your partner? The importance here is to find a way to communicate so you set each other up to win.
Q5: How to deal with emotions and struggles during a separation with a child involved?
Q6: How to overcome the Collapsed Fawn response and tap more into the responsiveness of the heart. The answer to this question came back again to the adaptive child in addition to being a demand for the world to feel your heart.
Q7: What do I do when she pushes my buttons? John discussed being non-reactive and loving and to take on the practice of owning it.
Q8. How do I work with my reactiveness when things are not the way that I want them to be? The topic of overcompensation of praise was brought up and to retrain the mind to see the things that have been done, and done well.
