Community Practice: Principles of Masculine and Feminine Embodiment
Community Calls • 1h 48m
You may have reached a place in your practice where you understand masculine and feminine energetics, but don’t feel confident that you can fully embody them. Perhaps you have a sense that you want to express more of your masculine or feminine energy in your life or relationship, but you are not sure how.
In this video, from the February 9, 2021 Community Practice Call, John describes why you need to develop both Masculine (awareness) and Feminine (feeling) capacities in order to be whole and integrated. He concludes the call with a practice for embodying both the Masculine and Feminine, and eventually merging the two into an integrated body of feeling and awareness.
If you want to be able to embody both your feminine and masculine in any moment, this 108-minute video will help.
You'll also learn:
- We all have the natural masculine and feminine energetics, such as swaying bamboo and the sturdy oak. We can all flow like water, and ground, root, and hold like a mountain or oak. Our bodies become the templates for them to express.
- Many people say "I'm too feminine" or "I'm too masculine." On the spectrum of Masculine and Feminine, each of us has an imprint of where we land.
- If you're feminine in nature, you are a love-driven creature.
- Many women were praised for their Masculine traits, and so they cultivated that capacity because that is how they got love; having massive Masculine capacity is great if used with awareness.
- Feminine practices allow your body to attune to the pulse of the universe, of life, and of nature.
- On the other side of the spectrum is the great nothingness or stillness behind that pulse; in the core of your heart there is a stillness; and a part of you and this moment that has never changed. This is your Masculine.
- The purpose of this work is to develop your feeling body and awareness capacity so they can merge and you can be more available to the moment.
- Change the body and the mind follows.
- An embodied meditation practice you can use to connect with your Masculine to feel in your awareness what needs to emerge out of the moment.
- The moment you become directive in any moment, you are in the Masculine.
- If you want take control, become clear about what you want to take control for. If it's not to lead your partner into the deepest experience of the divine, then it is a diminishment of your gifts.
- If you command from a place of "I'm going to break your heart open," it's a different experience than being told what to do. The key is your intention.
- The Masculine in all of us wants completion and peace. The Feminine wants to express what's true in their heart when they feel it.
- If you want to lead a reconciliation with a partner from a place of consciousness, then you have to be willing to hold free Feminine expression - to listen & validate. If you want your feelings to be heard, then the structure has to be set-up for that.
- How you can take a ruthless inventory to own your part at the end of a relationship.
- If you are stepping into a reconciliation with someone who is Feminine in nature, there is more power and trustability to go in from the place of taking full responsibility for the dynamic that is occurring. It will give you more freedom and help her trust you even if she is still hurt.
- The steps for reconciling a relationship: Step 1- Clear your own charge; Step 2- Take an inventory of where your are responsible; Step 3- Reconcile from the place of "Here's why I think you're angry and here's where you're right."
- Breath, Movement, Awareness - A practice for embodying both the Masculine and Feminine, and eventually merging the two - integrated feeling and awareness.
