Morning Masculine Practices for Grounding and Centering
3 Part Grounding Practice - Earth Breath Meditation, Ego Eradicator, Heart Horse
22m
You are looking to cultivate a consistent daily practice for masculine depth and groundedness, but you are not sure where to start.
This is a 3-part masculine practice guided by John for deepening your breath and grounding your body. You begin by making a deep and immediate connection with the core of the earth through a seated meditation that deepens your breath and uses your will to ground into the earth through the soles of your feet.
Then you fold your fingers into the pads of your palms, so that you create loose fists and outstretch your arms over your head on a 60 degree angle. Then you begin a rhythmic breath of fire, which is a forceful exhale through the nose that sends your navel towards the spine and a natural inhale through the nose. This is the beginning of an "Ego Eradicator" practice, which comes from the Kundalini Yoga tradition.
The final practice is done standing in a horse stance, with your feet wide, your toes pointed out, your knees bent, your sacrum tipped down, and your hands on your upper thighs. You extend your arms at heart level and breathe from your heart into your hands. Then, while your heart is energized, while your body is grounded, and while your breath is full, you make a powerful intention.
If you’re looking to ground and deepen into your embodied masculine, doing this 22-minute practice at least 3 times per week will be impactful.
